Today is the reveal date for Lorelei's current Michael's Reader Challenge! The challenge was to buy the beads pictured in her post at Michaels and create a necklace, using your own stash to supplement two extra types of beads, a clasp and a focal.
I wasn't able to find the mother of pearl faceted beads and substituted a white nebula. The focal is a skeleton key I found packaged as "Santa's Key" at a craft show. The clasp is a toggle with a dangling sparkly heart. Check out the other participants:
This is a treasure. Wonderful. You pulled the elements together really nicely.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous winter colors, looks elegant, hope you wear it for the holidays. xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you couldn't find all the beads. I hope that I combat that challenge for the next one!
ReplyDeleteI really love the key focal on your necklace. It all works so well together, thanks for participating!
It looks great - love the key
ReplyDeleteLove that key and it gave me idea for a huge stack of keys I have lying around from a craft store. I love the clasp and have used that one myself a few times.
ReplyDeleteGreat job of improvising!

ReplyDeleteOh! That key works so perfectly in with the beads. I just acquired myself a stash of keys and didn't even think to use them in the design for this challenge (partly because I was DONE with the necklace for this challenge.)
ReplyDeleteYou've made a beautiful piece that I know I would readily wear!! Just beautiful!
That key is stunning! What a great necklace, and you compensated so nicely for not being able to get all of the beads :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I am a sucker for anything with a skeleton key. This is so classic and elegant with a touch of vintage. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the day!
