sashiko

This little piece was my first (and so far only) attempt at sashiko. I had put it aside after completing it because I was disappointed with the result but since I did enjoy it I may try again.

  4. Thanks! I followed specific patterns for the quilting and wasn't happy with the unevenness of my stitching.

  6. I think that even sashiko professionals would do uneven stitching if they weren't preparing the stitching with drawn lines or templates, I guess. Nobody can stitch perfectly straight without help of a sketch. And the fabric seems to be difficult. Yet it is beautiful!

  19. I love it. I am sure if the stitches were done on a large piece you would not be worrying about unevenness. But, of course you don't work on a large scale.
