kind, true, necessary

This is a small project I also started on New Year's Day. There was an interesting article in today's Wall Street Journal about things to consider regarding words:
"Is it kind?
Is is true?
Is it necessary?"

Good things to remember. Although, I remember my mother once saying, "If you can't say anything nice keep your mouth shut." Works too on a different level. :)Bea

thank you for the lovely compliment. i will say that it took some time to be able to say that i was 'blessed with the gift of time'. early retirement was NOT in my plan.

I think those words of wisdom are sadly lacking in society today. I always say to my kids...before you open your mouth think about how you would feel if someone said the words to you...
oh, and I like what you are working on.

"True words aren't beautiful, beautiful words aren't true", Lao Dsu said. Speaking the truth can seem unkind, even if the intention is good.

Words could be true and necessary, but not kind. This is a mother speaking.

Love your piece of quilting, great colours. The snow image is wonderful to see whilst we swelter here in Oz.
