Fiber and metal.
As once the winged energy of delight
carried you over childhood's dark abysses,
now beyond your own life build the great
arch of unimagined bridges.
Wonders happen if we can succeed
in passing through the harshest danger;
but only in a bright and purely granted
achievement can we realize the wonder.
To work with Things in the indescribable
relationship is not too hard for us;
the pattern grows more intricate and subtle,
and being swept along is not enough.
Take your practiced powers and stretch them out
until they span the chasm between two
contradictions... For the god
wants to know himself in you. ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

Beautiful post. Dragonflies are one of my favorites, as you may know, because of the red dragonfly I had an encounter with once. Love the words by Rilke.
Great poem. I love the sturdy dragonfly on the shimmering background.
Love the poem that goes along with your great inchie.
What a wonderful way to introduce your inchie.
Great poetry for your inchie!!
I sthere anything that Rilke wrote that isn't fantastic. Can't wait to see the real dragonflys again. xox Corrine

Fragile cloth and metal...this is quite a marriage of design elements. Peace, Mary Helen

Sorry about your snow!! Last time I was in PA it snowed in April... I felt that it was a gift to me...
My finger has been healing fast now. It is still purple in one spot. Kiddos at school don't like to look at it. Hope it is a nice day for you!!!
