Art saves Lives...it has saved mine many times. Losing oneself in a creative process is healing and keeps us out there and not in too much pain. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
Oh yes, stitching of any sort, using our hands, losing ourselves in fabric, yarn, threads and such can all be so fulfilling -- and quite healing. I'm sending healing thoughts to you every day.
This is fascinating. I kind of discovered this for myself only a short while ago, when I had post natal depression. It was a difficult time and whilst in the throes of it, I signed up to one of Jude Hills workshops. Stitching allowed me to focus on something better, it stopped my negative thoughts in their tracks, I was so lost in the moment that nothing else mattered, and the colour, wow, it made me feel so much better. I still haven't finished the cloth I started, I work on it a little here and there (such is slow cloth), but it is a very precious piece to me, a poignant reminder of bad times turned good. Thanks for sharing such great links :) The slow cloth is posted on my blog over last winter, if you care to take a peak. Best wishes to you, keep stitching <3
Stitching is a wonderful thing. It can take the worst days and the worst moods and make them better. It allows us to meditate and find our centers in a sometimes too cluttered mind. Blessings to you, thanks for the link and keep on stitchin.

Missing you. You have been in my thoughts, hope things are okay. xox Corrine
It really does help, doesn't it. If you cannot stitch, I hope you find some other way to soothe your soul while you are waiting!
