My husband took this photo of me working on one of the first quilts I made. I think this was actually the second quilt I made and it is a wall hanging size log cabin. We still have it because I gave it to him for a Christmas present that year.
I don't usually use a hoop but that doesn't mean that I never will. Even though I've made larger quilts in recent years instead of using a hoop I baste heavily, roll two sides together with the quilt on my dining room table and start quilting in the center, rolling the quilt out as I go.
This photo was taken a long time ago. Since then I have made queen and full size quilts without using a hoop. I think the reason I was using a hoop was that I was learning how to quilt by reading library books and that was the recommended method. I've stopped following rules and recommendations since then.

Beautiful photo of you!
Wonderful picture!
That is such a great photo! Do you still use a hoop? I never have. I like to lap quilt. Can be tricky with a queen size.
