eyes of the heart

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye. " ~ Antoine de Saint-Exupery

An unexpected drive out to Chester County to deliver a forgotten item.

While there, I took a photo of a quilt I made many years ago. It's a little faded but will be coming home soon since the office where it is currently displayed will be relocating in a few weeks.

The quilt is extraordinary and I love the little heart with eyes. Very symbolic and lovely! Like the nature photo too. I live in upstate NY and although most of the country has seen more snow then they know what to do with, my little world has seen little(but it's still too darn cold).

Great quilt, Deborah. Nice illusion. Will you be hanging it in your home when you get it back?

I agree with the first comment! That quilt is extraordinary!!!

How simple and how true! Only the heart can see rightly!

Hugs!

I really like that quilt (and the heart-they are all so different.)

That is one amazing heart! Did you design it or did the eyes just happen?
It must be wonderful to get the quilt back, it's gorgeous!

Love the movement in that quilt and the on-point medallion setting. It's so sad to see our work fade, but then again, perhaps it is better to undergo it while bringing enjoyment to others rather than hiding it away where no one sees it. I've gone to treating my work with a UV spray, but even that can't protect it from the harshest rays.
