inspired by jude

This little traveling piece was inspired by jude and is an experiment for me in the use and placement of solid colors and fabrics I don't normally use. Currently basted, it will also be an experiment in stitching.
Why is it called a traveling piece? Because all of the placement and basting was done while riding in a car and with the intention of having a small transportable stitching project.

ooooh I love that denim. :) If you need more traveling projects, I highly recommend hexagons!

this makes me think of boro, what a great traveling project although I don't know how any of you stitch in the car. It would make me dizzy. xox corrine

Oh my - I don't think I could ever assemble anything like that while riding in the car. Who knows where the fabric would end up and talk about crooked, crazy stitches...

Like dosfishes, I can't stitch while moving in any kind of vehicle. This looks good and I'll look forward to seeing where it goes next.

An intriguing start to a beautiful piece. I'm the one who does the driving, so I never get to do car work.

I love the way you turn bits and pieces into art, and I wonder about the size of this piece. Also, if it's basted by hand, I wonder how it will be sewn when finished. Will be watching!

Interesting! I too am looking for a smaller hand stitiching project to take places (not in cars though), but I always seem to get carried away and want to finish - right now.
