a familiar hand

Transitioning from a pc to a mac and consolidating photos I found this one of a small quilt I gave to a friend when she moved to New York a few years ago.

Love it, Deborah, all the little details and embellishments!
Did you piece the hand fabrics together before you cut the shape out?

Thanks! I used the hand shape as a foundation piece and used a stitching and flipping method to attach the pieces. Probably it would have been better to piece the fabrics and then cut the shape out but since I handpiece I'm always concerned that they may unravel.

I really like how you did the hand in several fabrics. Very cool.

Love this quilt and all of it's texture and detail. Isn't it just amazing what a wonderful touch beads add! The little bits and baubles are finding their way into most of what I do also!
