toning it down

At one point this is how these pieces were coming together. However, I may remove the block with multi-colored diagonal stripes from this grouping, and try to tone it down with a coffee or tea bath.

It looks great! I have painted some patches and applique pieces with tea on finished quilts, and that worked well. However, I have no idea of what impact the tea will have on the fabric long term; maybe I should wash them...

It's very nice! I think it will hold up, I've made ornaments with tea stains and they seem to hold up pretty well, I think it will be very subtle with the tea stain.

Thanks! I have tea dyed an entire little quilt after it was finished and it has held up well. Since this piece isn't intended to have hard use, as in a bed quilt, it should be ok.
