Knowledge Day

In my mind
September 1 is the first day of fall
and
the beginning of a new year
(more so than January 1).

I'm not the only one.

In Russia September 1 is known as Knowledge Day.
the transition from summer to autumn
the first day of school.
there is also a tradition of bringing flowers to the teacher.

since we're all teachers
in one way or another
we should all
have flowers

happy knowledge day!

Sept 1 is a big date for all of us. It is the end of hot weather and the beginning of chilly as well. Back to school does not affect me anymore but I can still feel the excitement of it all......

Another adorable little treasure! Thanks for the flower. I agree, it should be a new day with Sept. 1st. Looking forward to cooler weather this year.

Here school doesn't begin until next Wednesday. I think because all the parents go away for Labor Day weekend and come home Tuesday. September can be our warmest month. I enjoyed the information about Russia. I usually plant fall flowers in the yard now.

You are right. We all deserve a bouquet of flowers this evening.
What a beautiful day of recognition Knowledge Day is. We should trade in several of the insignificant ones for a Knowledge Day.

Lovely flower.

What a great piece of knowledge. I brought flowers and dinner (along with 4 friends) to a women and children's shelter this evening, to celebrate the first day of school. I had no idea September 1 is actually a celebration day in Russia. I may make this a yearly event. I love how you made a piece of art to celebrate the day.
