Our volunteer pumpkin is still growing, rather riskily at the edge of the driveway where it's amazing (and wonderful) that it hasn't been run over by a car or smushed by basketballs.
HOW EXCITING! We love it when we get volunteers! This year we have a cantaloupe, and some of those kind of tomatoes you buy in the market that still are on the vine.. Only ours will be organic! :-)) Someone around the corner has 4 pumpkins on their side hill, and we are amazed that the kids in the neighborhood haven't smashed them in the street. It is so nice to see Fall .
Your pumpkin looks great, and I love that it means Fall is almost here; but I have to ask, what is a "volunteer"? Does that mean something that shows up where unexpected? I don't think we have any of those, but we did have tiny watermelons. They were very cute -- actually cuter than they were tasty. ;)

How exciting, I love it! Nothing better than something you grew yourself!
Volunteers are the best, looks like it is maturing nicely.
Should be ready in time for Halloween. xox Corrine

I've never been able to grow pumpkins. Loved seeing yours. Fall must be here for sure!
What a great gift from nature!
We had all kinds of gourd volunteers this year but love the fruit volunteers best.
What a fat and happy Autumn treasure.
