I've been busy harvesting rosemary, sage and lemon verbana. Usually there is more, but this was an unusual year. I went to a craft show but purchased only a few tiny old tins and this small blue bottle that's about two inches high.
When I see how much those stale limp herbs cost at the market as well as the cost of the bottled herbs I just cringe. I grow just about all of my herbs. I freeze and dehydrate them. I never even knew you could freeze basil...and when used it is as fragrant as the fresh! you go girl...keep growing those herbs!
Yes, fresh herbs are the best. Now I pretty much just hang them up to dry and then store them in containers but I used to microwave them first. Sound like a terrible idea now. I've heard of freezing them but haven't tried it yet.
